Metal ceiling tiles come in many flavors and there are many reasons you can install these tiles. Whether you are looking to improve the value of your property, or whether you are looking to update the décor, there are many reasons you can consider installing metal ceiling tiles.
At Metal Ceiling Express, we offer 4 different types of tiles for metal ceiling installation:
Nail-Up Tiles for Metal Ceiling Installation
As the name suggests, nail-up tiles are designed to be nailed onto the ceiling. These tiles are manufactured with a ¼” overlapping nail rail that allows them to be installed directly onto a substrate like plywood. Alternately, these can be installed on furring strips that are used to first build a grid. Keep your pattern straight for a seamless look and use our matching cone-head nails for a seamless look. Nail-up metal ceiling tiles are manufactured in 24in x 24in sizes. Order them finished and unfinished in over 30 patterns and in more than 40 different colors and finishes. This method of installation is very easy, and well suited for a DIY project.
Drop-In Tiles for Metal Ceiling Installation
Drop-in tiles work best in commercial applications. You start by installing a “grid” system slightly below your existing ceiling. Once the grid system is completed, you can easily drop tiles into the grid, hence the name “drop=in tiles”. Installing the grid system can take additional work, however, it is important to remember that the completed look is seamless. Drop-in ceilings are also known as suspended ceilings as they are “suspended” on this grid system. These ceilings can hide ugly ductwork and electrical wires to create a clean look.
Deep Drop-In Tiles for Metal Ceiling Installation
Deep drop-in metal ceiling tiles are very similar to the drop-in ceilings since they also drop into a pre-installed grid system. The main difference is that a deep-drop ceiling “drops” deeper from the ceiling as compared to regular drop-in tiles and creates an almost 3-D look and feel.
Snap-Grid Tiles for Metal Ceiling Installation
Our snap-grid ceiling system is quite revolutionary and combines the ease of installation of our nail-up tiles but with the clean look of a drop ceiling. In this system, you first install the snap-grid system that is screwed or nailed directly to the ceiling. Ceiling tiles are then “snapped” into the grip to complete the look. We created this system to secure tin panels to the ceiling without having to install plywood or furring strips.
